by Hylton Jolliffe

Attached you will find the audio recording of yesterday’s excellent discussion between Bill Lucchini, the moderator, and Jim Ware, Steve King, and Josh Holbrook on the changing way we work.

Among the highlights:

  • How Generation Y is different – but not too differen
  • How our home technology influences our work life
  • Tips for managers on how to weave virtual workers into the organization and culture.

Feel free to follow up with reactions and follow-up questions by posting a comment to this post – we’ll be sure the panelists see them and will invite them to respond. Also stay tuned to the blog over the coming weeks and months as we continue to explore many of the topics that were raised in the webinar.

Good info and dialog. there was a reference to an article on the value proposition of the distributed workforce and people working at home. (referenced early; people more motivated more productive, more loyal) Can you share the specifics of where this is published and name?

I was one of the presenters/participants in the webinar. Thanks for your kind comments. I’m not sure if I was the one who mentioned the paper you are thinking of, but here’s a link to a downloadable white paper we prepared last fall.

It’s a discussion of why distributed work should be the next big thing, as well as why we think it still hasn’t taken off as we think it should. Hope you find it useful, and feel free to contact me directly if you have further questions.

Just wanted to thank you folks-there were many pearls here. In particular, I wanted to thank Jim for his insight on Change Management- I took it as a call to action to develop my personal Teachable Point of View on Change Leadership (I’ve footnoted Jim and the future of work in that document).
