		<description>Dennis, you are absolutely right that many of these &quot;new models&quot; have been around a long time, in other guises and with other names. What I do think is different now is that we have more understanding of the structure of networks, ways to manage the contexts in which they operate, and ways that we can make them more effective.

Lets also recall that just because a company has a matrix model, it doesn&#039;t mean that people are being swapped in and out to ensure fresh ideas and perspectives. When I worked in a large matrix company, there were many people in the same roles for decades.

It also suggests to me the need for more awareness of project management techniques given the temporary and fluid nature of organizational activities suggested here.</description>
