Be Talent Ready

Proctor & Gamble, McKinsey and Google have abandoned traditional pyramid-style organization structures.  How talent ready is your organization ?

The marketing message on the site implies that the workforce of the near (and rapidly approaching) future will be less hierarchical and more accustomed to working with peers (inside and outside the firewall) in networked structures.  Where have we heard that before (They Are Your Future Employees, AppGap blog, March 2008) ?

That message is getting to be ubiquitous, it seems.  However, the amount of fundamental work required to address deeply held mental models and patterned behaviours amongst leaders, managers and employees throughout the many, many pyramidic organizations still standing, is enormous.

Check out Appopedia, a new section of The AppGap we've just launched that pulls together the scores of app reviews we've published here since we launched. Appopedia organizes the reviews into a useful directory that breaks down tools by category and function, e.g., online crm, project management, human resources, security, etc. Check it out here.
